The Smith-Welch Memorial Library recently secured $4,650 to update our reference collection. We have many reference materials available digitally through online databases, but our print resources were in great need of replacement. As a result, if you stop by the library one day soon, you will be able to find the most accurate, current, credible, and appropriate resources on so many topics! This includes encyclopedias covering the world, medical conditions, mental health, animals, and more; information on gardening, plants, wildlife; legal issues including taxes, divorce, land ownership; history; literature; art; and more. In fact, if there is ever anything you need that we do not have, let us know and we will see if we can find it for you! All of this information will be available for patrons of all ages, and many of the encyclopedias are "visual" encyclopedias which are helpful for children, homework assignments, and those who may struggle with English.
We are incredibly grateful to the Ladd & Katherine Hancher Library Foundation for helping us in this important reference revitalization for our library that will benefit our community!
